Before You Submit - Submission Checklist
Please verify that your manuscript meets all requirements below. Submissions that do not comply with editorial standards may be rejected.
- The text has not been previously published and is not currently under review by another publication
- File saved in Microsoft Word (.doc) or RTF format
- Formatting: Times New Roman 12pt, 1.5 line spacing (extended quotes: Times New Roman 11pt, single spacing)
- Funding sources disclosed (if applicable) in accordance with editorial requirements
- No ghostwriting, guest authorship, or conflicts of interest present
- Author familiar with journal's peer review procedures
- License agreement with Nicolaus Copernicus University accepted
- For collaborative works: Percentage contribution statement completed and uploaded as supplementary file
Author Guidelines
1. Submission Process
Submit manuscripts via our Academic Journal Platform (first-time users must register). All correspondence will be conducted through this system.
- Manuscript Length: Maximum 30,000 characters with spaces (including footnotes, bibliography, abstracts, and keywords)
- Required Information:
- Email address
- Institutional affiliation
- ORCID number
- Abstract in Polish and English
- Keywords in Polish and English
2. Formatting Requirements
- General Formatting: No special formatting required. Mark paragraph breaks clearly. Short quotations: use quotation marks. Extended quotations: format as separate indented blocks.
- Citations and Bibliography: Chicago Style (Author-Date version) MANDATORY since 2022. Manuscripts not following Chicago Style will be returned for revision.

3. Submission Deadlines
- Issue 1 (Varia): Submit by January 31
- Issue 2 (Social Themes): Submit by April 30
- Issue 3 (Biblical Thomism): Submit by August 31
- Issue 4 (Biblical Book Studies): Submit by October 31

Editorial Requirements
Originality and First Publication
Articles submitted to Biblica et Patristica Thoruniensia must be original, unpublished works and cannot be simultaneously under review elsewhere. Submitted materials will not be returned to authors.
Copyright and Licensing
CC BY-ND 3.0 License: Authors retain copyright while granting publication rights to the journal. The license covers:
- Work preservation and reproduction
- Print and digital reproduction (e-book, audiobook)
- Distribution of reproduced copies
- Computer memory storage
- Open access electronic distribution via UMK Digital Platform and repository
License terms: Non-exclusive, royalty-free, unlimited in time, quantity, and territory.
